Minimum brewpub entry is a 5 gallon keg. The brewpub entries
should be on site by noon 10/8, if possible. Notice of brewpub entries
should be received by 10/4. Please consider that your entry will need to
be chilled and settle for the best presentation to the judges, so the earlier
the better!
All entries for the homebrew competition must be
registered by 2:00 pm. To register, bring at least
two bottles of each entry and follow the signs to the covered porch of the
colorful blue home on the left about midway down the brick street. Show your
entries to the ticket desk and they will let you in early. Please all adequate
time to register. The homebrew judge's meeting is at 2:30 sharp at the
competition location on the covered porch of the colorful blue home.
Please take note:
It is important to select the proper style for your entry. The judging
must be done according to the appropriate criteria, and delicious beers
sometimes suffer a competitive disadvantage simply because they are entered
in an inappropriate style category. Even though you set out with the intention
of making a porter, for example, the mysteries of fermentation may have
resulted in something closer to a red ale. Please taste your entry carefully. Then review the style guidelines criteria at
http://www.beertown.org/education/styles.html
before deciding what to call your beer. Good luck.
This is a wonderful opportunity for home brewers as well as the Microbrewer
and Brew Pub to find out what your competition or just fellow brewers have
been creating lately. Bring your brew and see how it stands up to the competition!
Talk beer with someone who actually knows what you are talking about! Learn
from your peers ways to make your beer even better! Share your wisdom!
We are all very anxious to taste the fruits of your labor.
